Welcome, Agents of Perez Elementary!

What inspiring missions you’ve initiated!  Bravo!
In Agent Linnell’s class:
The Bullying Team has started a petition to gather support for having a ‘March for Kindness.’
The Too Short Recess Team has written a formal letter to request more recess time which, they argue, will improve their focus and ability to learn and collaborate during class.
In Agent Kenny’s class:
The Pollution Team aims to become organized and start a club to help their community. They’ve taken action already by creating posters to recruit more members.
The Racism Team plans to talk with the Counselor about organizing a ‘No Place For Hate March.’ They’ve already come up with catch phrases to inspire unity!

Missions in Progress at Gullett

To all you agents out there – here’s an update on what some of the courageous leaders at Gullett are working on:

The team focusing on mass shootings  put up posters around their school. They’ve also continued writing petitions and letters to the government asking for stricter gun control.

The team focusing on animal cruelty made posters, and they are working on a fundraiser for local shelters.
The team who wants to stop terrorism is focusing on first learning more about the issues related to the problem before diving into action!
The Environment team organized with other students to pick up trash during the last 5 minutes of recess. This was successful for a little while, but they lost steam, especially after the winter break. They also recognized that while they had been picking up trash, others were still littering so it didn’t feel like they were making a huge difference. They decided to make posters encouraging people to stop littering, and spreading the message to others to help pick up trash during the last 5 minutes of recess.   Great evaluation of your success and trying again, Team Environment!

Welcome, Brentwood Agents!

Welcome, Agents of Brentwood Elementary!

In Agent Thomas’ class, the agents have decided to help stop pollution by making signs and announcements to spread their message; another group is excited to help end world hunger through a food drive.

In Agent Shirey’s class, one group of agents wants to help stop animal abuse by starting a boycott of companies who do product testing on animals; they plan to research what companies do this first, and then make posters and signs to spread the word of the boycott.  Another group wants to speak out against the racism and intolerance they’ve identified in Donald Trump’s public statements.   They’ll begin by pledging to make their own school welcome to everyone as part of the No Place for Hate wall and presentation, and will make posters and signs as well.

In Agent Olivares’ class, the agents want to do a fundraiser to help end poverty.  They plan to research organizations who help with this cause, and are hoping to find adult sponsors and corporate sponsors to help them.  Another group also wants to speak out against the racism and intolerance they’ve identified in Donald Trump’s campaign, and they started working on posters and signs.

Missions in Progress at Pioneer Crossing!

Mission Updates:

Agent Manor’s class addressed the topics of racism and terrorism. Team Terrorism made a poster that they would like to post in the school. They also wrote a letter to Obama encouraging peace talks in the Middle East. Team Racism discussed what causes people to think in prejudiced ways, and started making posters to put around the school encouraging equal treatment.
In Agent Lopez’ class, Team Animal Extinction started working on a fundraiser to donate to the World Wildlife Fund. They started planning the details and thought about who they need to talk to in order to make the fundraiser happen. Team Pollution and Littering started making signs to post around the school encouraging people not to litter and to take care of the environment. They also talked about asking the principal if they can put more trash cans around the outside of the school.
What inspiring progress, Agents!  We hope you continue working on your missions!

Missions in Progress at Presidential Meadows!

Mission Update:
Agent Perez’ class chose the topics of deforestation and pollution during their CIA training. Since both groups have similar goals, they decided to work together to write letters to the government asking for better laws to protect the environment, particularly regarding deforestation and emissions from factories.
In Agent Herbst’s class, Team End Homelessness is working on creating care packages to give to homeless people. Team End Racism is working to create a play that raises awareness of some of the issues they’re concerned about, and how we can work together to solve them.
In Agent Garvey’s class, Team End World Hunger is working to start a food drive at their school. They also learned more about what organizations in the area are working to alleviate hunger, and how they can join those organizations to help. Team End Animal Abuse is working on a video that raises awareness and shows teaches how to be a responsible pet owner. They’re hoping to collaborate with Austin Pets Alive! to see if they can go there to get footage of the animals.
Congratulations, Agents!  You’re making great progress!  We’re proud of you!  Remember to keep evaluating your success and trying again and again and again!
